The East Central Florida Regional Mitigation Bank (ECFRMB) (approximately 1,170 acres in total ownership) is located in northwest Orange County, Florida. The active mitigation bank encompasses a variety of habitat communities that are of regional significance and provide important hydrologic recharge functions in Orange County and adjacent to the western banks of the St. Johns River. The project area has been purchased by the St. Johns River Water Management District, and the continued stewardship of the land is currently being managed by Mitigation Resources, LLC.

As a mature mitigation bank, ECFRMB requires routine land management activities to ensure enhanced habitat communities remain in optimal condition. In response, Mitigation Resources, LLC provides ECFRMB with an array of land management services – dependent on seasonality and routine observations. Security and fencing services have been implemented to maintain the perimeter fencing and prevent foraging cattle from access the site. Prescribed Fire Management is used as an ecological tool to manage native/historic habitat structure and function.

Another important component of site management is the reduction and elimination of invasive exotic/nuisance vegetation. Mitigation Resources, LLC conducts routine ground assessments throughout the ECFRMB project site to target and treat invasive exotic/nuisance vegetation where it may occur.
