East Central Florida Regional Mitigation Bank

Imagine a Florida without major roads, cities, and drainage alterations. Centuries ago, without these human alterations, the State would often experience large-scale flooding and fire. Today, these abiotic forces have been managed, or in some cases nearly eliminated, to the point that most ecosystems function abnormally. In the absence of these landscape-scale processes, resource (or land) management is essential to the long-term ecosystem maintenance.

Mitigation Resources regularly conducts prescribed fire management, exotic species control, wildlife monitoring, and ecological monitoring and reporting on projects throughout Florida. Through regular implementation of these practices, we help ensure that ecosystem function and health are maintained in perpetuity.
